Sartorial flexibility and perfection of details are the protagonists of the Smania project in Qatar: the new Shaza Kempinski Doha
From the encounter of contemporary luxury, history, traditions and values of the Middle East, a new jewel of hospitality has been created by the New York studio SOMA Architects.
Located in the cultural district of Doha, within walking distance of the Islamic Arts Museum and the new National Museum, the 20-story building stands out for the particular pattern of the glass facade, homage to Mashrabiya, typical elements of Arab architecture that provide a Strong regional character to the project.
Pascall + Watson Architecture studio has designed the interiors of the 172 hotel rooms, including three theme restaurants, the ‘Shalimar’, the hammam, the spa, the gym, the swimming pool, the business rooms and the bar on the rooftop.
Smania, along with the experience of the contract industry, is among the protagonists of indoor and outdoor furniture with upholstery, lighting, decorative objects and accessories.
The “Made in Italy” design welcomes the guests in the lobby with the ice shades of the Mister P sofas and the Dorothy armchairs.
The handmade culture is represented in the presidential suite with the Madison desk and the Virgi console in wengè, the Jana Plus Capitonnè armchair, the Beverly series of upholstery in sober and delicate shades.
The conference table in wood and leather and the Byron table furnish the meeting rooms of the business centre, while the Costa Rey outdoor collection distinguishes the panoramic pool area on the top floor.
The Shaza Kempinski Doha will soon be a key determinant of the skyline of a city full of ferment and Smania will become part of a project that is ready to satisfy the most demanding guests in search of a luxurious stay and a sophisticated design.
